For the upcoming season the Windy City Rage will offer three levels of play for our members in an effort to provide each player with the best opportunity to play and develop their skills.
Regional Teams Overview
Regional level teams play a schedule that focuses on skill development while maintaining the lessons of being a lifelong competitor and part of a team. Softball skill development is a big focus on our regional teams and practices are a primary focus. Localized play is a key component, and travel is kept to a minimum. At the younger levels, our teams are generally just starting their travel ball careers, and we are hoping for a successful journey as members of the organization.
Regional play will include:
- Entry in a local league if available
- More localized tournaments
- Fall and winter will be mostly practice and training and may include some scrimmage games.
- No tournament will be scheduled during fall and winter.
- At times, Some players may be asked to play as call-ups on the more advanced teams.
Select Teams Overview
Select level teams play a schedule that features highly competitive events within the Midwest against some of the most well-known travel programs in the area. The schedule of each team prepares them for advancement to Premier level teams, while developing their skill sets to compete with others in a highly competitive travel program stage.
Select play will include:
- Competitive play throughout the year with local and regional travel programs.
- More advanced local and regional tournaments. One to two overnight tournament stays may be required.
- Fall and winter will include group training competitive play and tournaments.
- Tournaments will be scheduled during fall and winter. Players will be selected to teams based on skill when we enter tournaments during this time.
- At times, Some players may be asked to play as call-ups on the more advanced teams.
Premier Teams Overview
Premier level teams play a national level schedule against some of the best teams in the county. The schedule of each team is rigorous, as is the training, with the end goal to prepare each athlete to play collegiately at as high a level as they are possibly capable of. Ultimately, the Premier teams features primarily committed athletes that are continuing to develop their skills in competitive national-level events.
Premier play will include:
- Entry in college showcase events
- More advanced regional and national tournaments. Multiple overnight tournament stays may be required.
- Fall and winter will include group training competitive play and tournaments.
- Tournaments will be scheduled during fall and winter. Players will be selected to teams based on skill when we enter tournaments during this time.
